Ana John: Music Researcher, Brain Beats Speaker, DJ, Sound Designer and Artistic Mentor.

Originally from Brazil, with over 15 years of experience in the music business, she has been living in Europe for the past 6 years.

She is MSc in Science of Emotions (ISCTE Lisbon) and has been researching the relationship between music and the brain, giving talks on the topic, and preparing for her PhD. She is also a columnist for Girls on Board in Portugal, contributing recent reviews on music and behavior.

In Lisbon, she leads Colours Live, an artistic mentoring and booking agency founded in Brazil in 2010 and active in Europe since 2020, where she has been producing numerous shows with Brazilian artists in countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Malta.

As a DJ and Sound Designer, she develops sonic identities for brands, beach clubs, hotels, fashion shows, corporate events, and weddings, where she also occasionally performs or holds seasonal residencies, as she is currently doing in Malta during the summer of 2025.

Her style is open format, but she often navigates through House, Jazz, Bossa Nova, African Latin rhythms, and therapeutic soundscapes.

Music Journey

She began her career in corporate events in 2009 in Brazil, creating sonic narratives and expanding to clubs and festivals across Europe. She is currently the summer resident of Malta's renowned Café del Mar and other beach clubs on the island, represented by Cool Daddy Management.

In 2025, Ana John performed at Runway Vision Milan and moved to Malta, where she took on a summer residency at Café del Mar, Manta, Nine Lives, Beefbar, Blu Beach, Toro Toro, Noyane, Sabi, Ruby Rays, Cabanas, AKI and Las Palmas by Cool Daddy Management Agency.

In 2024, she was the  resident DJ at Cuá Cuá in the Algarve (Portugal), performed at Rock in Rio LisbonCopacabana Palace Ball, Caras Portugal, DCK, Monte Mar New Year’s Eve Parties, as well as a wide range of Portugal private parties.

Between 2023 and 2021, she was the resident DJ at JNcQUOI in Portugal and played at iconic venues such as Alvito Festival, Caparica Golf, Okah Rooftop, Hawai, LX Factory, Lux Frágil, Sud, Bafureira, Casino Estoril, Casino Lisboa, Bossa MarketPalaphita, as well as Café Matteo in Italy. 

In 2020, she moved to Portugal. Internationally, she had previously performed in Punta del Este for Chevrolet (2015), Cancun for Petrobras and Budweiser (2013); in New York, opening shows for singer Vanessa Falabella’s tour (2012); and in Portugal for Confraria da Bacalhôa (2010).

Between 2009 and 2019, Ana built a solid career in Brazil, working in the corporate event scene for Itaú, Bradesco, Google, Unilever, P&G, Sadia, Net, Globosat, Samsung, Nokia, LG, Audi, Kia Motors, Chevrolet, Mastercard, Nestlé, Calvin Klein, Oracle, Cielo, Carrefour, Nextel, Adidas among others and its live marketing agencies like Tudo, B/Ferraz, Banco de Eventos, Aktuellmix, Samba.  For 5 consecutive years, she was the resident DJ at Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival, performed for the Devassa VIP Lounge, and others venues like  CCXP, FLIP, Art Biennial and Skol Music.

Live Shows & Band Collaborations

She opened shows for major Brazilian music icons like Paralamas do Sucesso, Toquinho, Ivete Sangalo, Caetano Veloso, Preta Gil, Titãs, Capital Inicial, Jota Quest, Sidney Magal, Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, Chiclete com Banana, Jaloo, Skank, and also djing for public figures.

Music Curation & Artistic Management

In 2012, she founded Colours Live, an agency focused on artistic, booking and tour management. She mentored and coached the singers Mamá Trindade, Rebecca Sharp, Vanessa Falabella and Ruane Ballmant in Brazil and Europe, founded The Ladies Jazz Band and led the rebranding of the Sound People Band.  She has been responsible for the artistic selection and direction of high-profile projects such as the BMW Motorrad FestivalRock in Rio Musical, activations for Taittinger, Vacheron ConstantinFIFA World Cup and São Paulo Auto Show for Audi, Renault, and Chevrolet.

Fashion World
Ana John stepped into fashion in 2009, creating the soundtrack for the FAAP Fashion, Runway Vision (Lisbon 2023, Paris 2024, Milan 2025), Estoril Fashion Show in Cascais (2022), SPFW (2012), Poko Pano in Miami (2015), and Joe Boxer in Brazil (2014). As a DJ, she performed for Arezzo (2010), Dolce & Gabbana in Sardinia (2018), IWC Schaffhausen in Malta (2025), and produced music for Vacheron Constantin (2016).
